Frankincense essential oils and abstracts are extracted from Frankincense resin. The resins such as frankincense are known as sacred substances among many ancient and modern cultures. To us, frankincense is a representation of light in an energetic manner. Frankincense trees grow in regions of the world that are extremely dry and experience intense sunlight. Frankincense is harvested from Somalia or Oman.
The way Frankincense is harvested is the Frankincense is tapped from Boswellia trees by slashing the bark (which is called striping) and allowing the resin to bleed out and harden. The resin then hardens and forms what is referred to as tears. The tears are the blood of the frankincense tree. The ancients refer to these tears as crystallized drops of sunlight.
Frankincense is wonderful for protection and cleansing of the auric (energetic) field. It is protective, purifying, and grounding all at the same time which is why it is wonderful for meditation and sacred ceremonies. On the physical level frankincense essential oil is very effective for headaches when combined with Palo Santo and Peppermint essential oisl. It is a great respiratory aid and also effective for skin and scarring.
