This Frankincense is Boswellia serrata. This particular species of Frankincense is the oldest of all the Frankincenses to be documented. Hence, many believe that this is the Frankincense referred to in Biblical Times! It comes from beautiful India.
We offer five different Frankincense essential oils:

Frankincense essential oils and abstracts are extracted from Frankincense resin. The resins such as frankincense are known as sacred substances among many ancient and modern cultures. To us, frankincense is a representation of light in an energetic manner. Frankincense trees grow in regions of the world that are extremely dry and experience intense sunlight. Frankincense is harvested from Somalia or Oman.
The way Frankincense is harvested is the Frankincense is tapped from Boswellia trees by slashing the bark (which is called striping) and allowing the resin to bleed out and harden. The resin then hardens and forms what is referred to as tears. The tears are the blood of the frankincense tree. The ancients refer to these tears as crystallized drops of sunlight.
Frankincense is wonderful for protection and cleansing of the auric (energetic) field. It is protective, purifying, and grounding all at the same time which is why it is wonderful for meditation and sacred ceremonies. On the physical level frankincense essential oil is very effective for headaches when combined with Palo Santo and Peppermint essential oisl. It is a great respiratory aid and also effective for skin and scarring.
Traditional Use of Frankincense serrata
There are several species and varieties of Frankincense trees, each producing a slightly different type of resin and essential oil. Differences in soil and climate create even more diversity of the resin, even within the same species.
In general all Frankincense essential oils have many, many benefits to offer.
It is wonderful for the skin. This essential oil is both cicatrisant and cytophylactic. It is skin healing and effective on boils, acne and scarring on the skin as well as to assist stretch marks to fade. Being cytophlactic, it promotes the regeneration of healthy cells and keeps the existing cells and tissues healthy. Also effective as an antiseptic on wounds and cuts. Try using it in a facial cream for wrinkles too.
Great for digestive issues. Frankincense speeds up the secretion of digestive juices and facilitates peristaltic motion. It is also a carminative giving relief from gas and indigestion.
Frankincense is a powerful expectorant and very effective for respiratory issues such as colds, flu, asthma, and other lung issues. Relieves bronchitis and congestion.

Frankincense essential oil generally is high in monoterpenes.
