Helichrysum italicum essential oil is such an amazing oil on so many levels. This is one of our personal favorite oils, and definitely one we would not be without, at any time. Helichrysum italicum essential oil assists us emotionally, physically and spiritually. We have seen how Helichrysum grows on the island of Corsica, even straight through the rocks. We have experienced the amazing benefits from this oil whenever there is any serious trauma, both emotionally and physically. Helichrysum italicum essential oil seems to step up to help heal wounds that we have incurred, on any level. This oil brings a sense of comfort and peace to any issue being addressed. We are impressed with its gentle, but extremely powerful abilities. Helichrysum italicum essential oil offers a sense of courage, helping us when we need endurance, strength and comfort. This essential oil is known to relieve depression, calm the spirit and open the heart.
We always use Helichrysum italicum essential oil in our massage practice when there is an injury that needs extra care and to add potency to any of the other oils we have chosen to use to help at that particular time. Helichrysum italicum essential oil works well alone or blended with other essential oils to help us whenever it is seriously needed. We have added Helichrysum italicum essential oil to blends when an added “punch” is needed, having wonderful effects with clients with arthritis.
Helichrysum italicum essential oil is one of the essential essential oils for any skin issue. It has marvelous wound healing and cicatrisant abilities. Helichryusm italicum essential oil works on healing cuts, stopping bleeding, for bruises and diminshing scars. It is also beneficial for eczema, psoriasis and acne. We use it any blends for use anywhere on the skin. The scent is quite unique and special, with a touch of sweetness, quite honey-like. It has been referred to as “honey for the psyche”.
Because Helichrysum italicum essential oil is so helpful for healing any kind of trauma, it resonates beautifully with the fourth, or heart chakra. When there is an emotional aspect that needs to be addressed, Helichrysum italicum will help soften the pain. There is such a gentle component to Helichrysum italicum that it will, indeed assist in healing any emotional distress that we might be experiencing. Patricia Davis, in her book Subtle Aromatherapy feels that Helichrysum italicum helps activate our intuitive brain, assisting in meditation, visualization and any creative endeavor.

Traditional Use of Helichrysum Italicum Bosnia - Limited Reserve
Helichrysum italicum is also known as Immortelle or Everlasting.
We have two Helichrysum italicum essential oils here at Stillpoint Aromatics. This one from our distiller in Croatia is beneficial for skin healing just like the Helichrysum from Corsica. It does not have as high a percentage of italidiones, however. The many benefits of Helichrysum italicum include treating burns and wounds, healing of scars both fresh and old. It is highly anti-inflammatory and is useful for pain and spasms. The high ester content brings a calming, healing aspect to this essential oil.
Helichrysum italicum has been found to beneficial in clearing stagnation in the liver as well as helpful in detoxification as it can be wonderful for supporting the lymphatic system. In France, it is also used for respiratory issues, such as asthma and bronchitis.
We like to use this Helichryusm italicum essential oil when respiratory relief is needed. This essential oil blends wonderfully with Helichrysum gymnocephalum,Helichrysum bracteiferum , and Helichrysum odoratissimum for respiratory issues.
