This essential oil is a co-distillation of two different plants. Rosa damascena flowers and Pelargonium graveolens x asperum leaves are distilled at the same time to produce this essential oil.

In herbal medicine, Pelargonium has been used for intestinal problems, wounds and respiratory ailments, as well as fevers, kidney complaint and other conditions.

Citronellol may be a skin irritant, though Tisserand does not see a need for a liming on dermal exposure for skin sensitization.
