According to Tisserand & Young, Basil ct methyl chavicol essential oil is potentially carcinogenic & may inhibit blood clotting.
Maximum dermal level: 0.1% (Based on 87.4% estragole (methylchavicol) and 4.2% methyleugenol content.
According to the distiller, Basil ct. methyl chavicol is very powerful. Not to be used undiluted on the skin - dilute heavily in vegetable oil. Do not use with children under 6 years of age, pregnant or lactating women. Not to be taken internally.
